The battle between good and evil. I wanted to use the yin-yang concept with two snakes on the Bible, one representing good (as Moses’s staff was when transformed into a serpent), the other representing evil (as Pharaoh’s staff was, which was defeated by Moses’s serpent). God will prevail, but for now we remain in conflict.

Created using the free 3d scanned ‘Timber Rattle Snake’ by Digital Life 3d, which comes with just a flat diffuse pass. Repainted in substance painter, posed in C4D, and photoshopped some new scales on where my normal pass just didn’t do it justice. The book was a free asset that I used to place my Bible pages on-top of. I wanted it to look old timy or film like, just like Sean Kernans snake on a book image, which inspired this.
