Subway Tunnel Robot

CGI

We are tired of being ignored, our cause is legitimate. But they wouldn’t listen to our problems, so now we are making problems for them. Our bots are about to make a mess of this town, and disabling the city’s main frame is where we are about to start…

This project was inspired by the Metro North Train that I took on my commute into NYC for work.  The tunnels were so deep and mysterious, with this ugly yellow hue, and yet they fascinated me.  So I decided to recreate it in Cinema 4D and Octane.

The robot was my husbands idea, so I added it in by modeling and rigging it in Cinema 4D and textured it in Substance Painter.  I wanted to give the impression that he was disrupting the lines of communication for transportation via hijacking the cables.  The sparks were done in X-Particles, and everything (sound, dust, laser scan) was done in After Effects.

The back story above was written by my best friend Nikisha.
